Verruca and Warts
A verruca is viral warts which are usually found on the plantar (bottom) surface of the foot and typically known as the human papillomavirus (HPV). They are caused by a virus and can be spread easily from person to person and from one area of the body to another. If a verruca is persistent and does not resolve itself after an extended period of time or if the lesion becomes painful it may require treatment from a podiatrist.
At Simply Feet Clinic, we offer a range of treatment methods to address verruca and warts, ensuring a tailored approach that suits your unique needs. Treatment options include:
Traditional Acid Treatments: Using acid-based solutions for effective removal.
Cryosurgery (Freezing): A technique involving freezing to remove verruca and warts.
Verruca Needling: A specialised procedure aimed at resolving verrucae under local anesthesia.
Verrutop: A Nitrizinc complex applied to the verruca/wart. Verrutop works by drying up and desiccation of the lesions, which aids cell death.
